DupeBlocker for AppExchange - Product Details
DupeBlocker is the first real time duplicate prevention program for Salesforce that has been fully integrated into the Salesforce environment via the APEX development platform. Once DupeBlocker is installed via the AppExchange it will be visible in the application pull down menu of Salesforce.

When working with DupeBlocker, Salesforce administrators design deduplication scenarios (similar to DemandTools if you are an existing customer) that will execute every time a record is updated or inserted by any means including user entry, web to lead capturing, API calls etc.
The administrator can use the existing scenarios that are packaged with the DupeBlocker Application Package or design scenarios specific to their organization. Any standard Salesforce fields can be used for scenario development.
Scenarios may be developed to support duplicate detection for:
- Account to Account
- Contact to Contact
- Lead to Lead
- Lead to Contact
- Lead to Account
Of course all of the CRMfusion advanced matching algorithms for Account names, nicknames, fuzzy matching, address matching, numeric etc can be used when building DupeBlocker scenarios.

When designing scenarios the administrators decide what to do when a duplicate is discovered. Different actions such as "Block Insert with Error Message", "Redirect to Proper Record" or "Allow Duplicate but Display Warning" are selectable based upon whether the duplicate was discovered during an insert (new record) or an update (modify existing record).
