DemandTools MassBackup is a very easy way of transposing either your entire salesforce.com database or selected tables to a local Microsoft Access MDB Database. Every object in the salesforce.com tables selected will be replicated on the local drive regardless of status.
The MassBackup interface is very straight forward:

| The first step in the MassBackup module is to decide if you would like to export your entire salesforce.com database (in some cases a huge process if there are 100,000+ accounts) or by unchecking the checkbox activate the table selection box in the next step |

Selecting to export all tables or wanting to select individual
When selecting which tables to replicate MassBackup provides a Select All and Select None option and also allows for manually selecting which tables to replicate by checking the corresponding check box. |

Selecting which individual tables to replicate
| After selecting the desired tables to replicate, MassBackup requires a location to create the Access MDB database. |
Press the export to begin the replication, remember that the amount of time it will take is dependent upon a number of factors including database size, speed of the sforce API servers, your internet connection speed and general internet traffic.
Upon completion MassBackup will show a confirmation dialogue box with a URL to the MDB database location. |
With the MassBackup tool you can:
Maintain a hot backup location of your salesforce.com data. |
Download specific tables for advanced reporting in a 3rd party package such a Crystal Reports |
Download salesforce.com tables needed for analysis of data in a 3rd party software such as Business Objects or Cognos. |
Download tables of data, mass modify in Access and then use DemandTools MassEffect (which reads MDB Access databases) to re upload the data to salesforce.com updating your entire table. |
